Location:Darwin (Palmerston)

Opportunity: Parttime ongoing

Hours: 22.8 hours a week / 45.6 hours a fortnight with a flexible working pattern available

About YWCA NT

YWCA NT has been supporting women including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and women from a culturally and linguistically diverse background in the Territory since 1969. We provide local housing services and support programs that enable women their families and other priority groups to find stability and feel safe and secure so they can build the future they want.

About the role

As a Case Manager you will provide clientcentred case management for children and young people who have experienced domestic or family violence.

In this role you will:

  • Providing risk assessment crisis intervention safety planning and holistic support under the YWCA Case Management and Service Model and Practice Frameworks
  • Develop and monitor individualised case plans for children and young people
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to model and support positive parenting interactions
  • Coordinate referrals to a range of specialist and communitybased childrens service providers

About You

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Certificate IV Diploma or tertiary qualifications in Community Services Early Childhood Education Social Work Psychology Social Sciences or related fields (highly desirable).
  • Experience working with children or young people affected by domestic or family violence.
  • Knowledge or understanding of:
    • gendered theories and practices related to domestic and family violence.
    • traumainformed care and culturally sensitive approaches especially with Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander and culturally diverse communities.
  • Strong Skills In:
    • Building and maintaining relationships founded on trust and collaboration.
    • Communicating effectively with tailored messaging and strong interpersonal skills.
