JOB SUMMARY
Rooted in the Catholic tradition the example of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and
empowered by the Holy Spirit Kennedy Catholics Campus Ministry invites every person in
the Kennedy Catholic community (students parents staff administration and alumni) into
an evergrowing continually maturing relationship with Jesus Christ. We commit to this
relationship through prayer community formation and service.
The Assistant Director of Campus Ministry will work collaboratively with the Director of
Campus Ministry to lead the community ministry efforts of Kennedy Catholic which
includes but is not limited to: leading organizing and facilitating retreat programming for
students and staff; planning and supporting the sacramental life of the school; providing
outreach and support to the different constituencies of the school; ensuring a commitment
to service among the students and community through giving drives retreats and
immersion experiences; and teach up to two sections of theology classes depending upon
the needs of the school.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Undergraduate major or minor in Religion or Theology
Masters degree preferred
Campus/Youth Ministry experience required
Experience leading organizing and facilitating retreats required
Skill in applying technology in education
Recent classroom experience preferred
High School or Middle School teaching background preferred
Candidate must be a practicing Catholic with an active sacramental and faith life and
a commitment to ministry in education2
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess the skills and abilities to:
Serve on the campus ministry team for retreat planning liturgy
design/implementation community outreach and service
Plan organize direct and implement comprehensive retreat programming
including student and faculty/staff retreats
Recruit train mentor and minister student leadership for retreats and campus
ministry programming
Ability to communicate effectively
Strong program management and implementation skills for large group events such
as FROSH Retreat Sophomore Solidarity Retreat SEARCH Retreat Junior Retreat
and Senior Retreat
Prior background and experience in the study practice and teaching of Theology
Ability to teach a broad range of ability levels
Energetic pastoral empathetic and innovative approach to students parents and
staff
Ability to be flexible and resourceful
Desire to work with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds
Ability to create and implement authentic assessments
Ability to use technology as a tool in the classroom
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of high school students in a
multicultural setting
Possess the knowledge and skills to develop positive interpersonal relationships
Good organization and management skills
Ability to meet individual student needs in the development of department goals
and restructuring of the curriculum
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges
market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and
certifications. Salary is dependent upon experience certification and education and
benchmarked against Kennedy Catholics faculty compensation schedule. For the
school year a teachers salary ranges between $55962 and $106217.
