Academy of Art University is seeking a Lead Transcript Specialist to drive special projects for the office and advises on escalated reviews in addition to the Transcript Specialist responsibilities supporting a set portfolio of prospective and incoming students as they prepare for their first semester at the Academy. Lead Transcript Specialists are responsible for monitoring all aspects of the transcript submission process including verifying admissions eligibility and proper placement in first semester coursework due to transferred and waived units.

This position is hybrid in San Francisco CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Run weekly reports to perform internal quality assurance checks for team operations.
  • Drive special projects including the ongoing cleanup of the external org ID database.
  • Perform specialized transcript reviews for departments with specific requirements.
  • Advise on complex transcript reviews as needed.
  • Provide a highquality comprehensive customer service experience to incoming students and academic partners to ensure a smooth admissions experience.
  • Independently prioritize outreach to students and partners ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Establish a deep understanding of all Admissions and transferrelated University policies.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate external course descriptions and degree programs in comparison with internal academic policy to determine transferable college credit.
  • Research academic requirements outlined by the Department of Education individual states accrediting bodies and foreign countries to determine incoming student eligibility.
  • Effectively communicate technical information through a variety of communication platforms to a diverse student population.
  • Coach students and Admissions Representatives on submitting outstanding required documentation.
  • Support eligible students in the portfolio submission process and enter any resulting waivers or transfer credits.
  • Advise on accurate placement in first semester coursework.
  • Calculate GPA (Grade Point Average) for Cal Grant purposes and code results in PeopleSoft.
  • Enter waivers and applicable transfer credits from qualifying exam scores.
  • Enter SAT ACT and AP (Advance Placement) test scores into student database.
  • Assist with commencement preparation and event support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

$25.00 per hour

The Academy also offers fulltime employees an opportunity to take one undergraduate course tuition free each semester.
