DCSS is the division within DHS that enhances the wellbeing of children by locating noncustodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders; enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. This program promotes parent accountability and selfsufficiency while reducing the public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers several outreach programs to include but not limited to Fatherhood Prison ReEntry and Parental Accountability Court. All of these outreach initiatives are devoted to increasing noncustodial parental involvement in the childs life.

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS)Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking candidates for the position of Child Support Services Agent Supervisor. This position is based at the DCSS office located in Marietta Cobb County GA.

Job Description

Pay Grade: I

Supervises guides and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Supervises a unit to establish and enforce child support obligations of responsible parents. Coordinates child support activities with legal judicial and public organizations.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Manages casework functions within the Child Support Services office or unit.
  • Interprets and applies state federal and agency laws rules policies and procedures and assists staff with sensitive and complex cases.
  • Provides human resources management direction to assigned staff.
  • Performs administrative assignments as required for the efficient operation of unit.
  • Coordinates and participates in local and statewide projects as requested.
  • Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned by manager director or leadership team.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED ANDFive (5) years of direct jobrelated experience which includesTwo (2) years in a lead worker team leader or supervisory role.
OR
  • Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Child Support Services Agent 3 (SST062).
OR
  • One (1) year of experience at the lower level Child Support Services Agent 4 (SST063) or position equivalent.
