Arcadis seeks anElectrical Construction Inspectorto join the team in California for work on highway projects.

Please note that this job posting is intended to build a talent pipeline for upcoming oncall opportunities in transportation construction and engineering. It is not for a specific immediate position. The Electrical Construction Inspector will perform plan reviews and field inspections of electrical infrastructure including but not limited to duct banks pull boxes fiber and communications poles cabinets controllers loop detectors and cameras. The Inspector will report to Resident Engineer and may lead other inspectors in completing tasks such asproviding compliance monitoring of electrical installations and regular updates on daily construction activities. They will perform daily electrical inspections coordination testing oversight commissioning and verification of Contract Document compliance.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Inspects each stage of construction up to completion. Interprets plans specifications and codes and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with all applicable governing codes and regulations.
  • Monitors construction sites for safety violations. Prepares NonConformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards. Maintains daily inspection reports with photographs crews equipment material on site and descriptions of the work. Review or prepare interim progress reports for contractor payments. Monitors contractortesting construction conforms to plans and specifications.
  • Will perform quantity estimates and review of submittals and other construction documents.
  • Conduct quality surveillance of specific qualityrelated activities as necessary. Assist in maintaining supporting and promoting a safe work environment while complying with CalOSHA IIPP and Job Specific Safety Plans for safety rules policies and procedures. Perform weekly job site safety inspections and reports.
  • Ensure activity and jobsite traffic control conforms with plans specifications and all governing laws and requirements.
  • Reviews submittals and other construction documents and recommends technical solutions.
  • Performs daily inspections daily reports punch list inspections and participates in project schedule and invoice reviews.
  • Manages contracts maintains quality assurance requirements and approaches and manages field inspection and monitoring code compliance issues.
  • Coordinate preparation of inspection survey reports cost estimates and maintenance records. Timely submittals of these reports and records.
  • Coordinates with source inspection and Caltrans METS as needed for materials to be delivered to the site.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience construction industry specializing in electrical installations engineering or inspection.
  • 5 years of experience on the Caltrans State Highway System in a capacity commensurate with listed duties.

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Caltrans Standard Plans Standard Specifications and Construction Manual.
  • Knowledge and experience with equipment used in roadway construction inspection surveying and construction office engineering
  • Knowledge of computers computer applications and computer software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint and others);
  • Knowledge and experience with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program and the General Permit.
  • Valid California Class C drivers license.
  • CalOSHA/OSHA 30hour training certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Caltrans experience

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
