Job Description

The Regional Team Resource Assistant (RTRA) is responsible for assisting the Regional Team Resource Specialist (RTRS) in providing guidance direction and support to assigned classroom staff teams in the planning and implementation of all classroom services staff training and monitoring.

There are several vacancies for this position. Candidates must submit an application by 5/29/25 to be considered for firstround interviews.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree.

  • Two years of experience in a Head Start or other Early Learning programs.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS

  • Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license insured vehicle available for use on the job and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required.

  • Successful registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division.

  • CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

  • Food Handlers Card or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

  • Candidate must pass preemployment physical examination renewable every two years.

  • Candidate must pass preemployment and random drug/alcohol screenings.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated proficiencies in Microsoft Office (including Outlook) videoconferencing platforms and web tools.

  • Effective interpersonal communication skills in both oral and written form.

  • Ability to present information to groups of all sizes both inperson and virtually.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be allinclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

  • Assists the RTRS with orientation and training of new site employees.

  • Assists the RTRS by observing in classrooms to help identify teams requiring additional support direction or training. Debriefs with RTRS about any identified concerns.

  • Works collaboratively with the RTRS and program specialists and coaches to support skill building and professional development for classroom staff.

  • Assists the RTRS as assigned to support effective and efficient classroom services. This may include:

    • Staff scheduling and coverage planning ensuring adequate staffing in classrooms substituting as needed.

    • Reviewing data and reports to ensure timely and effective service delivery.

    • Monitoring for timely completion of lesson plans child observations and assessments home visits and conferences.

    • Monitoring for timely completion of health & safety checklists and follow up to identified concerns.

    • Monitoring for accurate and timely completion of transition & counting forms.

  • Participates with site team to plan and conduct monthly parent meetings.

  • Assists the RTRS to plan and conduct monthly Region meetings with staff.

  • Effectively uses ChildPlus and Teaching Strategies Gold for collection tracking and reporting of child and family data and child file reviews.

  • Responds to emails interoffice mail and voicemails in a prompt manner.

  • Assists the RTRS with coordination and training of classroom volunteers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop kneel crouch or crawl.

  • Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity for handling office equipment.

  • Occasional Driving between Agency Head Start and Early Head Start sites.

  • Requires moderate planning and problemsolving while managing regular deadline pressures.

  • Ability to remain calm and quickly evacuate children from the classroom in an emergency.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Mostly indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.

  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

  • Frequent interactions with vulnerable populations including children.

  • Evening and weekend work when necessary.

  • Occasional remote work from home as approved by supervisor.
