Department: Engineering Reports To: Project Manager Job Summary: Piping Technology & Products Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Design Engineer.
This is a fulltime onsite salaried exempt position. Our corporate office is located at 3701 Holmes Road Houston TX 77051. Candidates should ensure that they are within a commutable distance to our facility before applying.
This role requires a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Role Overview The Design Engineer role is responsible for the design development and improvement of products and systems used in piping applications. This role involves creating detailed drawings and models performing engineering calculations ensuring compliance with codes and standards and collaborating with crossfunctional teams to deliver highquality costeffective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform engineering calculations to ensure designs meet safety performance and code requirements (e.g. ASME ANSI)
Prepare design documentation technical specifications and Bill of Materials (BOM)
Collaborate with project managers sales procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and costeffective
Participate in product development from concept through production release
Support manufacturing and quality assurance by troubleshooting designrelated issues Review and revise existing designs for improvement or cost savings
Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes customer specifications and internal standards
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
5 years of design experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (internships may count)
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD SolidWorks Inventor etc.)
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industry codes (e.g. ASME B31.1/B31.3)
Familiarity with piping systems supports and components preferred
Excellent analytical problemsolving and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a teamoriented environment Preferred Skills
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools
PE certification or EIT status is a plus Work Environment
Officebased with occasional visits to the shop floor or client sites
Standard working hours with potential for overtime based on project deadlines
