Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a skilled Project Transportation Planner / Project Manager to join our dynamic Transportation Planning team in California. As a Senior Transportation Planner / Project Manager you will play a pivotal role in overseeing transportation projects from conception to completion ensuring efficient planning execution and delivery within established timelines and budgets. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams clients and stakeholders to drive innovative solutions that enhance mobility sustainability and safety in urban environments.
Role Accountabilities:
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives scope deliverables milestones timelines and resource allocation.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients government agencies community groups and other stakeholders to understand their needs address concerns and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Lead and motivate project teams providing guidance support and direction to ensure clarity of objectives and adherence to project requirements.
- Manage project budgets resources and expenditures ensuring efficient utilization and adherence to financial constraints.
- Identify assess and mitigate project risks proactively addressing challenges to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
- Implement rigorous quality control measures to maintain high standards of project deliverables ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Prepare regular progress reports status updates and other project documentation for internal stakeholders clients and regulatory agencies.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends technologies and best practices in transportation planning incorporating innovative solutions to optimize project outcomes and deliver added value to clients.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws regulations and permits governing transportation projects facilitating necessary approvals and permits as required.
- Research and identify grant funding opportunities with clients lead and manage grant writing tasks and perform costbenefit analyses.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering Urban Planning Transportation Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (8 years) in leading planning project tasks and project management preferably in transportation planning or related infrastructure projects.
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus among multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent organizational and timemanagement abilities with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g. Microsoft Project Primavera or similar).
- Sound knowledge of transportation planning principles methodologies and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications (e.g. PMP AICP PE) are desirable but not required.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
