Job Description

Job Summary

This position will report to the Dean and receive direction from the Communications Specialist assisting with communications for the Deans Office the CLA Advising Center and the departments within the College of Liberal Arts

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Dean Associate Deans ASM Chairs and Strategic Communications to assist in the coordination of communications and messaging for CLA and the CLA Departments.
  • Write and complete the layout for the CLA Communications Monday Memo Deans LinkedIn website content and any other brochures or communications.
  • Special Project: Assist the College with communications on specific projects i.e. critical conversations Human Trafficking Vote 2024 advising College Read and College of Liberal Arts Student Council.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of peoplefaculty staff students and vendors. Must have knowledge of office methods procedures and practices relating to an academic environment. Can perform and concentrate in noisy environment that involves independent judgment accuracy and speed. Must have knowledge of Windows Word Word Press Adobe Acrobat Pro email spreadsheet databases Ad Astra and CMS for PC. Be able to develop and deliver essential information through written and oral interactions.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and nondiscrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to three years of administrative support experience required.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Previous academic college of department experience preferred.

Physical Summary

  • Sedentary work Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3680 $5417 per month.

Time Base

1.0 timebase 40 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment

This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
