Job Description
This is a Seasonal/Temporary Position and requires travel throughout the 5 boroughs daily.
It is anticipated the role will last from June 2024 September 2024 with the possibility of an extension. The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) supports youth and community services through contracts with a broad network of communitybased organizations throughout New York City. Our central task is administering available city state and federal funds to a wide range of innovative practical and quality programs that positively impact youth and communities. Under the supervision of a Deputy Director with latitude to exercise independent action and decision making the Summer Program Manager will be responsible for monitoring up to 25 sites and perform the following duties:
Monitor and evaluate summer programs. Review and approve program plans. Conduct site visits during the morning afternoon and early evening hours.
Provide technical assistance and directs work improvement or corrective action for underperforming CBO contractors.
Advance knowledge of COMPASS sites by providing technical assistance and sharing resources to promote program quality.
Make summary reports to higher administrative levels along with recommendations to improve program performance.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
