Fortuna is seeking a highly qualified Accessibility & Compliance Specialist to support a publicsector digital modernization initiative. This role is critical in ensuring that all digital content and platforms meet accessibility standards such as WCAG Section 508 and W3C guidelines.
The position is being submitted as part of a response to a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is contingent upon contract award. If awarded the expected period of performance is July 2025 through June 2028.

WHAT YOULL DO:
Conduct accessibility audits and remediation efforts in alignment with WCAG 2.x and Section 508 standards
Ensure compliance with ADA W3C and federal/state digital accessibility policies
Collaborate with designers developers and content creators to implement accessible solutions
Use assistive technologies such as screen readers and browserbased accessibility tools to evaluate user experience
Remediate HTML ARIA and AJAXbased code for accessibility issues
Provide accessibilityrelated documentation testing results and guidance during development cycles
Train teams on accessibility best practices and ensure awareness of evolving legal requirements
WHAT YOULL BRING:
Required Qualifications:
3 years of experience in accessibility remediation (WCAG/508)
3 years ensuring ADA compliance (Section 508 W3C standards)
3 years working with screen readers and assistive technology
2 years of experience with HTML accessibility including ARIA and AJAX
2 years of experience using browser accessibility tools (e.g. WAVE Axe Chrome DevTools Accessibility)
Preferred Skills:
Experience conducting accessibility testing and generating VPATs or conformance reports
Familiarity with publicsector accessibility requirements
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to advocate for inclusive design and universal access principles
