Work Schedule
10 20 hours per week.

  1. During the semester term of the appointment the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be preenrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).


  1. Ability to work in a team environment as evidenced in application materials.
  2. Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service to library users as evidenced in application materials.
  3. Recent public service work and/or volunteer experience.
  4. Library work experience and/or familiarity with KU Libraries as a user.
  5. Welldeveloped computer and research skills as evidenced in application materials including: database web searching and word processing.
  6. Work study eligibility.


Position Overview
Successful candidates for the Student Circulation Assistant positions at Anschutz Library will perform a variety of library duties including the following:
  • Provide helpful and friendly assistance to library users inperson.
  • Answer library user questions and provide general information directional guidance and referrals to University sources using appropriate library resources and the internet.
  • Shelve library materials.
  • Assist library users with library equipment and technology.
  • Perform a variety of collection maintenance duties such as processing and organizing.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
