PSEG operates under a Flexible Work Model where flexible work is offered when job requirements allow. In support of this model roles have been categorized into one of four work location categories:

Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.

Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/inperson interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.

Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/inperson interactions on a regular basis require employees to live within a commutable distance and since business needs vary by position and may change over time managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely require employees to live in approved states and will have purposedriven inperson interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

This position involves working as a member of the Distribution Technical Support Team in providingdirect support to Gas Operations in construction operation and maintenance activities. UtilizingPSEG behavioral standards sound management practice and skills direct operations personnel inaccomplishing the desired results. Ensure the quality and quantity of work performed is incompliance with Company standards and procedures safe work practices and governmentregulations. Maximize system reliability by ensuring timely and effective planning andscheduling. Demonstrate a total commitment to teamwork in achieving desired results for GasTransmission and Distribution Engineering. Develop bargaining unit personnel group skills toeffectively meet goals and performance objectives. Provide direct input and support for theperformance appraisal of bargaining unit associates. Ensure Gas Operations on call coverage andaccept call out obligations.

Job Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Expand knowledge of PSE&G Gas Operations through training initiatives and onthejob training
  • Oversee special projects involving technical field personnel manufacturers and consultants.
  • Provide technical assistance in implementing special programs and new processes.
  • Provide technical support and problem resolution during system activities and in equipment/materialfailure analysis.
  • Ensure Company and regulatory compliance in the inspection of materials and equipment utilized byGas Operations

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • 310 years of experience in the construction/operation/maintenance of gas distribution facilities.
  • Knowledge of Company/Union Agreement.
  • Experience working with MWMS.
  • Working knowledge of the Gas Distribution Standards Manual (GDS).
  • Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisors Test (FLST) unless presently anddirectly supervising (i.e. responsible for performance review) blue collar operatingdepartment/represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who havepreviously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently anddirectly supervising represented associates test results will be valid for a maximum period of twoyears from the date the test was taken.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and safe driving record.
  • Must have ability to obtain/possess and maintain valid CDL license.
  • Safety sensitive position. D.O.T. testing required.

  • Must have effective problemsolving and decisionmaking skills strong planning andorganizing skills must be adaptable and be resultsoriented.

Desired:

  • Experience and familiarity with all aspects of gas facility construction and repair and various (plastic steel and cast iron).
  • Experience in material joining (heat fusion of plastic welding of steel mechanical joining of variousmaterial types).
  • Experience in performing purging (gasin gasout) procedures on gas facilities of various sizes andmaterial types.
  • Experience with pressure regulation equipment and relief systems.
  • Experience with line tapping and line stopping equipment and materials
