JOB SUMMARYSizer School a North Central Charter Essential School is seeking a driven dynamic and experienced Mathteacher to be a part of the high school instructional team. This teacher is responsible for creating a classroomenvironment that supports students in the achievement of Math goals. This candidate will bring a passion forsupporting and implementing best instructional practices wrap around student support services and acommitment to further promote an already existing positive collaborative environment. Only those candidateswith a deep passion for the Sizer School mission and ready to teach in and be a part of an exemplaryinnovative public middle/high school need RESPONSIBILITIES (May include but not limited to:) Teaches Math courses at the high school level with an emphasis on Grade 10 Mathematics. Demonstrates strong knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Promotes the learning and growth of all students by providing highquality and coherent instruction. Designs standardsbased units of instruction and lesson plans with measurable outcomes andchallenging tasks. Demonstrates instructional and management practices that establish high expectations and create asafe and effective classroom environment. Adapts instruction materials and assessments to make challenging material accessible to all studentsincluding English learners and students with disabilities. Acts as an advisor to a group of students and works to shape curriculum and practice to support thewhole student. Reflects on the effectiveness of lessons units and interactions with students both individually and withcolleagues and uses insights gained to improve practice and student learning. Participates in schoolwide and subject specific professional development and grade level teammeetings. Promotes the learning and growth of all students through culturally proficient skilled and collaborativepractice. Utilizes informal and formal assessment methods to measure student learning and growth. Utilizes data to inform instruction monitor progress and identify students in need of targetedinstruction/interventions. Motivates and engages students and promotes opportunities for students to generate understanding ontheir own through real world applications. Uses inclusive instructional practices to account for differences in students learning needs. Sets and upholds high standards for student work effort and behavior.
