    Head of Extended Care
    School Year

    Compensation
    $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
    6:15 am to 8:30 am & 2:45 pm to 6:15 pm.
    5.75 hours per day 28.75 hours per week 180 school days

    Regular hours begin August 27 2025 and end on June 12 2026.
    There are unpaid breaks around Thanksgiving Christmas and Easter.

    Salary: Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.

    Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits.

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    • As a Catholic school Gospel values such as prayer and a belief in a loving God are essential to how our school operates. It is not a requirement for this position to be Catholic however in order for our school to thrive everyone needs to have an understanding of and a willingness to embody all that it means to be part of a Catholic community.

    • Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred but not required.

    • Alignment of professional duties and responsibilities to the belief that every student can learn the skills and dispositions necessary to have an opportunity to attend college.

    • Experience working or participating in Catholic education given preference.

    • Inspire a spirit of welcome and service with everyone who encounters the school.

    • Ensure respectful and appropriate communication of school policies with all community members.

    • Maintain professional communication both verbally and in writing.

    • Comfortable use of the internet and digital tools.

    • Enjoy learning new things.

    • Listen to others act with patience and seek excellence in all that we do.

    • Ability to perform the job responsibilities of this position.

    • Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children.

    • Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities.

    • Be able to kneel bend squat lift push pull and carry children up to 50 lbs.

    • Bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese are the languages that would be most responsive to our community.

    The Head of Extended Care job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Serve as a model of Catholic faith for the students and represent the teachings of the Catholic Church.

    • All responsibilities are to be in line with the Catholic mission of the Parish the school and state licensing.

    • Submission of weekly student routines to the Director of Early Learning.

    • Ensure that the Extended Care program aligns with all updated and revised policies and protocols from the Department for Early Learning.

    • Collaborate with the school staff in planning implementing and evaluating the schools goals and objectives with a specific focus on faith formation and ensuring learning for all students.

    • Participate in regional and Archdiocesan Catholic school initiatives.

    • Submit monthly attendance and billing reports to the Bookkeeper by the second Tuesday of each month..

    • Establish and maintain a nurturing environment in which students thrive guided by Gospel values high academic expectations for all students and a belief that all students can and will learn.

    • Align Extended Care activities and goals to schoolwide systems initiatives and goals.

    • Ensure confidentiality in accordance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

    • Maintain professional parent communication on an as needed basis.

    • Respond to requests for parent communication within 48 hours.

    • Implement research based instructional strategies in order to ensure learning for all students.

    • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and to support new technology as it pertains to enhancing student learning and communication among the school staff and families.

    • Participate in professional development opportunities that bolster both individual goals and schoolwide goals.

    • Attendance at Back to School Night two Open Houses Staff Retreats Graduation and other meetings required by the Principal.

    • Be punctual and have consistent attendance.

    • Maintain and update accurate student records as needed for the Department of Early Learning.

    • Demonstrate professional behavior at all times

    • Ensure the physical and emotional safety and welfare of the students

    • Enhance classroom instruction by actively monitoring students and providing an additional layer of instructional support when needed.

    • Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Family Handbook Faculty Handbook and Staff Handbook.

    • Serve this school in the position and in the specific duties assigned by the Principal. Established policies rules and regulations expressed by the school and the Principal shall be part of the professional procedure together with the applicable rules and regulations of the Washington State Department of Education the Archdiocese of Seattle applicable Canon Law and the local School Commission.

    Conditions of Hiring

    • Pass background check in MERIT and VIRTUS

    • Be CPR First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen certified or obtain certification upon hire.

    • Complete Child Care Basics (to be completed within 90 days of hire) and maintain 10hour annual inservice training.

    • Show proof of MMR immunization and TB test.
