Job Description
We are looking for an experienced wind turbine troubleshooter technician to join the Pen Y Cymoedd (PYC) site team part of the Onshore Wind Operations UK team in Vattenfalls Business Area Wind.
On a daily basis the technician works as part of a site team to maintain the operational & technical performance through daytoday activities of scheduled and unscheduled work in line with maintenance requirements. Together with the site operations team you are responsible for safely optimising the daily production of PYC.
Your responsibilities as a Troubleshooter Technician:
- Support the PYC site team to control all activities on Pen Y Cymoedd through the implementation of rigorous and documented processes;
- Responsible for turbine fault diagnosis repair and planned maintenance activities on the 3DD turbine platform;
- Providing accurate and detailed reporting of work activities on SAP systems;
- Support with facilities management and site administrative activities as required;
- Work to agreed targets against the PYC site teams defined KPIs;
- Execute work on site in accordance with the Vattenfall Wind Turbine Safety Rules and Vattenfall Electrical and Mechanical Safety rules achieve the relevant authorisations and comply with contractual obligations and site rules/regulations;
- Support activities such as implementation of common procedures HSE (according to Vattenfalls procedures and UK legislation) development of new operational processes and systems;
- Provide out of hours and weekend response in accordance with the PYC site teams Emergency Response Plan reactive cover and planned works;
- Maintain maintenance records service manuals and procedures in the Vattenfall Document Management System (e.g. AWPs Method statements etc.).

Pen Y Cymoedd sitebased Treorchy area South Wales UK.
Qualifications :
- A strong technical background with a qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines to NVQ3 level (or have completed an equivalent Engineering Apprenticeship);
- It is essential that you have a proven track record of competency as a maintenance and troubleshooting technician familiar with electrical power mechanical hydraulic and control systems as a wind turbine technician.
- Ability to lead and/or work within multicultural and interdisciplinary teams;
- Be resultsoriented able to meet tight deadlines and produce concise information for the site operational management team;
- Ability to work at heights in wind turbine generators (in accordance with RUK/GWO requirements) and in adverse weather conditions;
- Experience of HSE requirements and industry best practice;
- Full driving license;
- It is essential you live within a 45minute commute to the Site.
Applicants will be expected to provide relevant records of training and competency and authorisations held. Wind Turbine Technician AT authorisation to troubleshooter level is essential. Please do not apply if you do not currently hold this.
