What were looking for
The Engineering Stores Person will be receiving incoming goods checking for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices. Ensure spares stores and production downtime are kept to a minimum whilst maximising plant efficiency. Manage the delivery and allocation of all parts and work order requirements are fulfilled. Conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy. Maintain relevant business systems to accurately record and manage all aspects of stock management.
Our large factories produce multi formats across a number of high speed modern lines producing high quality standards whilst maximising production outputs and minimising overhead costs.
The Engineering Stores person is part of the Engineering teamreporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Your responsibilities will include...
As Engineering Stores Person your responsibilities will include;
- Maintaining a safe workplace using Good Warehouse Practices and upholding high standards of housekeeping.
- Maintaining the new stock request process when end users wish to add items to the engineering stores.
- Controlling the ordering receiving and replenishing process for stock items.
- Return serviceable parts for repair
- Coordinating periodic stock reconciliation and maintaining stock accuracy.
- Working with Engineering Team Leaders and line Engineers highlight critical stock and spares to minimise avoidable downtime
- Create a policy and process to control SLOBS
- Maintain the stores to clean and tidy standard
- Always look for Development or improvement on products from suppliers
- Maintaining the stock management system and continually updating as required.
- Housekeeping of the Kardex storage system to ensure accuracy of locations and all work order bins are maintained to the same high standards.
- Lead CI activities to improve processes and standards within the stores areas to improve the Stores Experience for our customers the Engineers
- Transfer of all stock to the new location system within the asset management system Mainsaver and the updating of labels.
- Ensure any spares required to complete PMs & work orders are available and fitted as per PM scheduled date.
- Maintain and improve budgeted costs of parts and consumables.
- Return incorrect parts and ensure credits are issued by suppliers Parts incorrectly booked out by engineers are returned to stores and booked back into the system in good time.
- Support Admin as and when priorities require. Assist purchasing team with stores purchase order queries.
- Carry out all duties in accordance with safe working practices factory hygiene standards and in line with relevant business and financial processes.
What youll bring...
The successful candidate will have;
- Must have excellent organisation abilities to manage tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Experience working in a handson role in an engineering environment with a good understanding of engineering components.
- IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely is Preferred but not essential.
- In depth knowledge of maintenance systems and processes.
- Proven knowledge and experience of initiating and implementing continuous improvements.
- Strong IT skills with the ability to use Google programs and some experience of using CMMS systems.
- Able to communicate effectively to stakeholders at different levels using a variety of written and verbal formats.
- Experience of leading a stores function and managing parts against work orders.
- Attention to detail with a real focus on accuracy will work hard to ensure a right first time approach and will have the ability to spot discrepancies and inaccuracies with ease.
- Completer finisher will adopt a logical and methodical approach and can be relied upon not to give up and to see jobs through from start to finish
- Problemsolver tenacious and will use creativity innovation and an analytical approach to exhaust all options until a satisfactory solution is found.
