What youll do

As a Cake & Flower Shop Supervisor atThe Dorchester you will be part of a creative and customerfocused teamdedicated to delivering bespoke luxury experiences through cakes floralarrangements and personalised guest gifting. You will support the shop managerin daily operations while taking ownership of the guest journey and productpresentation. In this role you will:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Cake & Flower Shop ensuring smooth service team coordination and an exceptional guest experience.
  • Support the production and presentation of cakes pastries floral arrangements and bespoke guest gifting items ensuring they meet the highest visual and quality standards.
  • Manage and fulfil guest orders offering personalised advice and assistance while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Supervise the team on shift offering guidance training and ensuring adherence to service and product standards.
  • Assist in inventory control maintaining stock levels of key items and liaising with suppliers when required.
  • Ensure the shops displays are regularly refreshed aligned to brand standards and reflect current seasonal offerings or promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to support special events guest celebrations or corporate gifting requirements.
  • Help maintain records of orders stock and supplier deliveries ensuring efficiency and compliance with administrative processes.
  • Maintain a welcoming polished environment for guests and ensure the shop floor is consistently immaculate.
  • Support the manager in training new team members and maintaining a culture of creativity excellence and fivestar hospitality.

Youll be a vital part of a boutiqueoperation that brings joy elegance and creativity into the lives of ourguests and residents whether through a showstopping cake a fragrant bouquetor a thoughtful gift.

What youll bring

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in retail hospitality or patisserie service environments.
  • A keen eye for presentation detail and personalisation with a passion for luxury gifting and guest delight.
  • Experience supporting a team and stepping into supervisory responsibilities including training quality checks and daily operations.
  • Comfortable handling guest orders special requests and coordination with other hotel teams.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Basic knowledge of floral design cake production or gift preparation.
  • Understanding of stock control processes supplier coordination or boutique administration.
  • Confidence using pointofsale or order management systems.
