Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing first line hardware and software technical support to all UK H&G UK and DHL Air system users
  • Performing all IT housekeeping tasks as per work instructions
  • Liaising with Global Aviation IT and Leipzig H&G IT Service Desk and other DHL entities for support and service requests when required
  • Ensuring all IT calls and jobs are completed and recorded in accordance with work instructions and internal SLAs
  • Delivering proactive incident management by monitoring background processes communication links and devices for errors
  • Ensuring that all shift and backup logs are correctly maintained and that all documentation is kept up to date
  • Ordering and maintaining IT hardware and consumables
  • All employees are responsible for the health and safety of themselves and also those affected by their activities.

Knowledge / experience required:

  • Incident Management and Escalation
  • AS400 Active Directory Citrix and Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Remote Desktop Technology
  • Server administration
  • VMWare administration
  • LAN WAN & WLAN
  • Firewall concepts
  • File Backup/Restore procedures
  • Linux (beneficial but not essential)
  • Second line support experience in an IT support environment
