Salary for this role is 26072.00
Work Pattern: Predominantly Monday Friday 8am 4pm / 12pm 8pm with 1 weekend shifts every 3 weeks.
You will also be required to work the occasional weekend shift and may be required to carry out the occasional sleepin shift depending on the needs of the service.
For this role it is essential that the successful candidate has a drivers license and has access to a car.
What is special about this opportunity
George Street supports young people predominantly between the ages of 1618 who have typically led very difficult lives. Often theyve spent their childhood and adolescence in Local Authority care experiencing many changes of home environment including different residential and foster homes.
The people we support are all Care Leavers who have involvement with Social Services. Many have experienced significant trauma brought on by abuse and neglect in early years. As a result we work with young people who display a range of complex behaviours including attachment disorders personality disorders selfharm and parasuicide risk taking behaviour alcohol and substance misuse and offending behaviour.
How can I make a difference
This opportunity to achieve a rewarding career in support making a difference to the young people accessing our service. You will act as a first point of contact and a role model for the young people we support. You will build positive relationships by helping them make a transition into independent living and advise on move on options. You will provide advice with budgeting and money management including welfare benefits as well as support them in a practical way with regards to day to day living skills.
