Job Description
Barocal a spinout from the University of Cambridge developing breakthrough cooling and heating technologies. Founded by Professor Xavier Moya Barocal is the global technology leader in solidstate cooling. Our technology is based on 15 years of research and may deliver 23 times higher energy efficiency compared to traditional systems while eliminating harmful refrigerant gases. Supported by Kiko Ventures Cambridge Enterprise Breakthrough Energy and the European Innovation Council Barocals technology is poised to transform entire industries impacting over 40% of global energy use.
Tasks
- Design & Development: Develop electrical systems and components for experimental and prototype hardware
- Testing & Validation: Measure and evaluate electrical performance using lab instrumentation and data acquisition tools
- Embedded Systems: Develop and implement basic embedded control logic
- System Integration: Collaborate with mechanical thermal and product engineers to ensure effective integration of electrical systems within the overall platform
- Prototyping Support: Assemble test and troubleshoot earlystage lab and field prototypes
- Documentation: Maintain technical records and assist in communicating design intent test results and system behaviour
Requirements
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from a toptier university. A PhD in a related field is a plus
- Experience: 3 years experience preferably within the HVAC automotive or energy sectors
