Job Description
Baxterstorey is seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our team in Huntingdon United Kingdom. As a vital member of our kitchen staff you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean organised and smoothrunning kitchen environment.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment utensils and work areas to maintain high standards of hygiene
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machines ensuring all kitchenware is properly cleaned and stored
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff
- Organise and store incoming deliveries in appropriate storage areas
- Dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Support the kitchen team by performing various tasks to ensure efficient service delivery
- Maintain a tidy and wellorganised kitchen including floors walls and storage areas
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards as per company policies and legal requirements
Qualifications :
- Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when required
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Teamoriented mindset with a supportive attitude towards colleagues
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning chemicals
- Basic understanding of food hygiene practices
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
- Food hygiene certificate is desirable
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
