You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailReporting to the Head of Business Line Communications Manulife Wealth and Asset Management (Manulife WAM) the Head of Communications Manulife WAMs Global Retirement Business will be responsible for building connecting and driving the communications strategy to support the business visibility and teambuilding goals of the Global Retirement business (which operates in Canada the United States and Asia with approximately 5000 employees globally).
This role will be responsible for developing communications strategies that articulate the strategic objectives of this businessinternallyto connect colleague to our overarching Manulife Investment Management objectives andexternally to protect and enhance our reputation with the media advisors and other audiences.
In the execution of your responsibilities this position will be a member of Manulife WAMs Global Communications team and will work closely with other members of the Manulife Investment Management communications team as well as Communications Global Practice Areas (media relations events thought leadership issues management content) to drive initiatives forward and ensure continuous improvement of our work.
Position Responsibilities:
Drive comprehensiveinternal and external communications supportfor Manulife Wealth and Asset Managements Global Retirement businessto effectively engage and inform employees and the press.
Develop and implementintegrated communications plans bring them to life through encouraging programs and tactics and consistently measure to ensure were hitting the mark.
Buildstrategic partnershipswith key segment and global business partners to capture and share relevant information that ensures colleagues are connected to our global mission understand our strategy and the role they play in it take pride in the products and services we offer and are engaged in our awardwinning culture.
Collaboratewith segment and global communications colleagues to ensure consistent messaging positioning and language.
Oversee thedevelopment and maintenance of internal communication channels such as intranet executive messages & newsletters and town hall meetings.
Monitor andmeasure the effectivenessof communication initiatives and adjust strategies as needed to drive engagement and understanding.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in working for an organization catering to retirement savers such as a retirement plan sponsor a retail brokerage firm a recordkeeper pension fund or retirement consultancy a plus.
Capital markets and investing acumen with a pulse on the issues and trends affecting the end investor.
Knowledge of the various retirement systems and regulations affecting market participants and retirement savers around the world.
Significant experience across multiple communications disciplines (e.g. strategy communication transformation messaging engagement people culture and brand issues management and storytelling).
Proven relationships in financial media business and personal finance across trade and toptier outlets.
Experience with thought leadership initiatives large and smallscale event management. experience and working with a shared services team considered an asset.
Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities within reasonable timelines.
A proven track record of strong execution.
Strong attention to detail.
Innovative creative proactive selfstarter with a keen sense of urgency and initiative.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a globally integrated and aligned team of communicators.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in marketing communications English journalism or related field.
79 years of experience in internal and external communications.

Salary range is expected to be between
$105750.00 CAD $190350.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location please contact for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant jobrelated factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
