Job Description

Youth Development Coordinator Competition #2025043

Category: FullTime Term

Closing Date: May 23 2025

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Children and Families the Youth Development Coordinator will provide entrylevel support for a team working with First Nations youth. The Youth Development Coordinator will also assist with the implementation of various workshops and events throughout the summer. This position is designed for a postsecondary student who is returning to school in September 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist staff with establishing a rapport with youth and families through regular contact and maintaining healthy boundaries.
  • Work with staff to help youth complete the intake process and develop a Brave Path.
  • Ensue that youth have support with short and longterm planning.
  • Help facilitate workshops that are designed to meet the needs of participants create opportunities for healing cultural awareness life skills and employment skills.
  • Assist the team in seeking resources in housing education employment training treatment etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education & Experience

  • Must be a postsecondary student returning to school in September 2025.
  • Knowledge of First Nations issues related to the child welfare justice education and health care systems.
  • Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Adherence to office practices procedures and confidentiality.
  • Able to work flexible hours and travel upon request.
  • Valid Class 5F Drivers License and reliable vehicle considered an asset.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
