About the Role:

As part of our Outcomes team in Gippsland you will lead the team delivering services in one of our residential homes in Morwell. You will work alongside people we support their families/guardians and staff to ensure that the people we support receive the highest level of care.

You will work with an incredibly supportive knowledgeable and committed Operations Manager who is there to support you. In addition you will be supported and coached by our Practice Quality and Safeguards team who are experts in Zero Tolerance human rightsbased Positive Behaviour Support and a personcentred approach.

This is a Supported Independent Living house caring for 3 individuals requiring different levels of support. Operating under a sleepover model on a monthly rotating roster this home requires tailored support including epilepsy management behaviour support and medication administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the operations of the Supported Independent Living service with regular reporting to the Operations Manager
  • Manage all aspects of team performance including rosters performance management records management quality and compliance
  • Lead and plan support for people with disabilities within their home and community based on the goals of individual support plans
  • Support initiatives that allow for individual choice control and independence within their shared home environment
  • Advocate within the broader community for inclusion participation and respect for rights for supported people
  • Convey information to people we support and their families to help meet daily needs and plan support for future requirements
  • Administer medication treatments therapies or seek assistance according to protocols


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must hold a Certificate 4 in Disability or equivalent qualification.
  • An Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or Equivalent qualification (highly advantageous).
  • Experience and knowledge in the field of disability and ability to apply policies and processes.
  • Specialised and contemporary understanding of disability and an ability to apply this theoretical knowledge to client support.
  • Understanding and familiarity with NDIS funding and planning processes
  • Understanding of personcentred active support positive behaviour support and its implementation within a diverse team.
  • Passionate about supporting people with mental health and intellectual disability
  • Knowledge of and skill with coaching supervision and planning practices.
  • Competencies using Microsoft Office software programs

Requirements:

  • A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you dont already have them).
  • Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
  • Evidence of COVID19 vaccination status including booster
  • Current unrestricted Australian Drivers License
