Job Description

Quality Assurance Officer (Projects)

Cairns

The Opportunity

The Quality Assurance Officer under the direction of the Operations Manager shall provide an efficient effective healthy and safe range of Quality Assurance Services for all projects.

This will include responsibility for the reviewing inputting and maintaining all Austal Queensland Shipyards quality assurance processes meet the requirements of both internal and external customers and authorities.

In addition to this you will ensure the accurate compilation and timely delivery of all required Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) as required by each individual Client

Whats involved

  • Coordinate manage and quality assure project documentation compliance processes and stakeholder information to ensure accurate submission and operational integrity.
  • Maintain and enhance quality and compliance by reviewing procedures supporting audits resolving issues and driving process improvements.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Drive efficiency and continuous improvement within the quality assurance (QA) environment by identifying opportunities and guiding the operations team.
  • Clear understanding of safety quality and business requirements to proactively manage risks escalate issues and contribute through relevant business meetings.
  • Ensure product quality meets standards before customer review foster continuous improvement eliminate waste and guides supervisors in coaching and developing their teams.

Youll need

Essential

  • Previous Quality Assurance experience specifically within Defence / Commercial industry or similar
  • Maintenance Operations marine / ship repair related
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems

Desirable

  • Qualified auditor
  • Trade qualification in relevant field
