Job Description
Overview:
A leading Fort Worthbased commercial construction firm is seeking a Commercial Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This is a key role responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for a wide range of commercial projects including education municipal healthcare and private sector developments. The ideal candidate is detailoriented collaborative and experienced in managing estimates from concept through final bid.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans specifications and other documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive and comprehensive pricing.
Work closely with project managers architects and engineers to identify costsaving opportunities and value engineering options.
Prepare and present detailed bid proposals and scopes of work.
Maintain and update historical cost data for benchmarking and future estimating.
Participate in prebid meetings site visits and client presentations as needed.
Ensure that all estimates comply with company policies client requirements and applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating preferably in general contracting.
Strong knowledge of construction materials methods and market pricing.
Proficiency with estimating software such as OnScreen Takeoff Bluebeam and Procore; experience with Sage/Timberline is a plus.
Excellent math analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work on multiple estimates simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field preferred but equivalent experience will be considered.
