DESCRIPTION: The function of this position is to oversee theMultilingual Education Program within the Wenatchee School District under the direct supervision of the Director of State & Federal Programs. This individual will work alongside allMultilingual Education staff across the District to provide training support and ensure successful implementation ofMultilingual Education Programgoals and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:All responsibilities are focusedacross the District and include but are not limited to the following priorities:Conduct/facilitate a local needs assessment that identifies the needs ofmultilingual students identified within the boundaries of the Wenatchee School and oversee a DistrictMultilingual with OSPI grants related toMultilingual the activities ofMultilingual Educatorstaff to ensure services are completed in accordance with State & Federal all ELD Education staff training is current and and/or lead staff or community trainingsrelated toMultilingual the implementation of the annaul K12 WIDA English language proficiency assessment in coordination the District Assessment Coordinator and other assigned Special Program support staff. Assist with endofyear evaluation and related data collection and to perform work or supervisory duties outside of the regular school duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: At least 5 years successful teaching experience.Experience in administrating school or district level programs/activities.Valid Washington State Teacher Certification. ELL endorseement required. Bilingual/Biliterate in Spanish required.Knowledge ofWA SateMultilingual Education of WIDA Language Standards and Assessment.Experience in working with or amongMultilingual families and students.Experience and background in teaching adult learners and working with culturally socially and economically diverse families.Strong collaboration skills required with the ability to lead teams of teachers staff members and other stakeholders.Proven ability to workeffectivelywith building and district administrators.Demonstrated skill facilitating collaborative Professional Learning Community teams.Demonstrated effective development and presentation of training modules.Ability to be highly organized and maintain records and documents to ensure compliance as defined by OSPI and the WA StateMultilingual Education Program.Ability to work alongside leadership and clearly communicate program progress needs successes and deficiencies.
