Paraprofessional Substitute Port Colden School SY 2025 (Washington Township, NJ)

The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fastpaced environment adhering to the guidelines/procedures set by the school and Spur. The primary responsibilities of this position are working alongside teachers and staff in their daytoday activities with students. Candidates are expected to represent the school and program positively and professionally. Candidates are to maintain confidentiality at all times and can maintain emotional control under accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.

DUTIES:

• Provide appropriate supervision for students to ensure safety and support
• Work closely with the lead teacher / follow written and oral instruction
• Facilitate small group and oneonone instruction
• Assist with testing and evaluation to determine student progress
• Provide enrichment and remedial assistance as required
• Setting up basic technology equipment to support classroom instructions
• Able to work on an oncall basis
• Perform related duties as assigned such as lunch duty hall duty or toileting assistance
• The ability to lift heavy objects 65 lbs. or more
• Performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Pass background check
  • Complete Sexual Misconduct / Abuse Disclosure
  • Complete a Mantoux TB test (tuberculous test)
  • Ability to comply with written and/or oral instructions
  • Prior related experience working with children

    • This position pays $18.00 per hour
    • The position schedule will be based on the schools standard schedule.
    • Positions are ON DEMAND (picking up absences when staffed positions are absent)
