Job Description

St. Mary Catholic School in Royal Oakis searching fora mathloving knowledgeable enthusiastic nurturing and faithfilled teacher for a 6^th8^th grade Math AND 4^th and 5^th Religion teaching position.

We are a growing vibrant Christfocused preschool through 8^thgrade school community located in downtown Royal Oak.

Position begins August 2025. Interviews held on a rolling basis.

Must be a Catholic in good standing willing and able to share our Catholic faith with creativity and joy in an ageappropriate manner.

Please send a cover letter resume AND copy of your valid Michigan teaching certificate to Principal Gabriela Bala. You may also upload one file consisting of the 3 listed documents through the Paycor Recruiting online system.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Valid Michigan teaching certificate (Could be in process if the candidate has coursework/experience in mathematics.)
Bachelors degree (minimum) including all courses and state tests needed to meet credential requirements
Catechist certification required for all teachers of religion (may be completed within 1 year of hire)
Required prior to working with students: fingerprinting background check and completion of Protecting Gods Children training.

Show professionalism and strong ethical behavior
Be creative and flexible in teaching
Have good written and verbal communication skills

All teachers in the Archdiocese of Detroit Catholic Schools shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Michigan Department of Education. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement(s) for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. All teachers who are catechists (teachers of religion) must be certified by the Archdiocese of Detroit.
