Job Description

Position Overview

The Payroll Associate is responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time by processing payroll calculating wages deductions and taxes and maintaining payroll records. They ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations resolve payrollrelated inquiries and coordinate with HR and finance on compensation changes. Additionally they review and process employee expense reports ensuring submissions comply with company policies and include proper documentation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Enters maintains and processes information in the payroll system including employees hourly rates salaries commissions bonuses or other compensation time worked paid leave and holidays deductions and withholding address changes and additional information.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes benefits wage garnishments and other deductions.
  • Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
  • Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits as needed.
  • Assists with quarterly payroll tax filings.
  • Processes employment verifications
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
  • Maintains accurate payroll records.
  • Generates payroll reports for internal use and audits.
  • Supports yearend processes including W2 preparation.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
  • Onboards new hires in both payroll and the travel and expense system.
  • Audits and processes employee expense reports through Concur and SAP accounting systems ensuring compliance with Company policies.
  • Assist with monthly expense report journal entries in SAP.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications :

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred.
  • 23 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Working knowledge of multistate payroll processing.
  • Understanding of payroll best practices and relevant US labor laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g. Paylocity) is a plus.
  • Research and resolution skills data analysis and multitasking.
  • Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner.

The target base salary range for this position will range from $60000 to $75000 annually. Individual compensation for this job requisition will be based on nondiscriminatory factors including your geographic location skills experience education and other factors as they relate to the position requirements.  Actual compensation may vary depending on the confirmed jobrelated skills and experience.

In addition to the expected base compensation this role is eligible to participate in Sirtexs incentive programs (target bonus of 5% for this position) and benefit plans which include paid sick and vacation time health insurance and a generous 401k matching program.
