Job Description
We are looking for a detailoriented Hausa Language Specialist to support a Natural Language Understanding (NLU) project. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Hausa Language and a deep understanding of its grammar syntax and cultural context. Your work will contribute to improving the performance of AI language models in Hausa.
- Review annotate and validate Hausa language data for NLU tasks.
- Assist in developing and refining Hausa linguistic resources (e.g. intents utterances entities)
- Ensure accuracy consistency and cultural relevance of Hausa language inputs.
- Collaborate with data scientists and computational linguists to improve Hausa language coverage.
- Conduct quality checks and linguistic reviews of AI outputs in Hausa.
- Provide linguistic insights to support model training and evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree or higher in Hausa Language Linguistics or a related field.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Hausa with a strong command of grammar and orthography.
- Ability to analyze language data with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with NLU NLP or AI projects is a plus (training will be provided).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
