Job Description

Position Overview:

The General & Project Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing financial processes ensuring compliance with organizational policies and facilitating accurate reporting for both general accounting and projectspecific accounting activities. This role requires attention to detail knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to handle both transactional and analytical tasks effectively.

Core Responsibilities:

Process and maintain financial transactions including bank reconciliations journal entries and general ledger updates ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Monitor intercompany transactions and ensure timely posting and reconciliation for legal entities including cross charges and related entries.

Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss statements for variances and accuracy.

Support monthly and yearend closing activities by ensuring all required data is compiled reviewed and submitted in adherence to strict timelines.

Perform account reconciliations for assigned accounts ensuring variances are identified and resolved proactively.

Collaborate with crossfunctional teams in resolving accounting queries related to intercompany balances financial data discrepancies and reconciliations.

Provide accounting insights and reports to support Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Corporate Tax teams.

Extract format and present trial balances while ensuring alignment with regulatory and organizational standards.

Shared Responsibilities:

Participate in interdepartmental collaboration to resolve accountingrelated issues ensuring consistency in intercompany balances and projectspecific accounting tasks.

Maintain open and effective communication with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of queries and continuous improvement of financial processes.

Specialized Expertise:

Utilize and maintain proficiency in accounting tools and software such as SAP S/4HANA Skystem and other financial reporting platforms ensuring optimal functionality and accuracy of data.


Key Differentiating Factors:

Distinct from routine transactional roles this position emphasizes analytical and reporting functionality enabling insights into financial performance at both the general and projectspecific levels.

The role requires adherence to strict timelines particularly during monthly and yearend close processing.

Involves specialized reporting and reconciliation tasks supporting broader organizational goals.

Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Timeliness of report submissions during monthly closings and audits.

Accuracy in transactional accounting and comprehensive reconciliations.

Effective communication and resolution of queries raised by stakeholders.

Qualification & Experience:

Educational Background: Bachelors or masters degree in accounting Finance or a related field (required); advanced certifications such as CA CPA or CMA are preferred.

Experience: 35 years of relevant accounting experience with exposure to both general accounting and projectspecific financial management.

Core Competencies:

Knowledge of Accounting Concepts: Deep understanding of general ledger management financial statement preparation and intercompany transactions.

Attention to Detail: Ability to evaluate financial data and ensure accuracy in reconciliations and reporting.

Analytical Skills: Experience in analyzing financial data to identify variances and provide actionable insights.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and entities.

Differentiators in Role:

Requires expertise in advanced accounting tools like SAP S/4HANA and Skystem distinguishing it from more basic accounting roles.
