Description of Role
System and Network Administrator responsible for the smooth and secure operation of an organizations IT infrastructure encompassing both systems and network aspects including maintenance troubleshooting and security.
Key Responsibilities and scope:
1. Network Infrastructure:
Design implement and maintain network infrastructure including LAN WAN and wireless networks.
Configure maintain and troubleshoot network devices like routers switches and firewalls.
Monitor network performance identify bottlenecks and implement solutions.
Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining firewalls intrusion detection systems and other security measures.
Manage network user accounts permissions and access controls.
2. System Administration:
Install configure and maintain servers and operating systems.
Manage user accounts permissions and security settings on servers.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Install configure and maintain applications and software on servers and client machines.
3. General IT Support:
Provide technical support to endusers.
Document system and network configurations and procedures.
Stay up to date with the latest technologies and security threats.
Participate in IT projects and initiatives.
Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.
Monitor network and security system logs for suspicious activity.
