Job Description

The Role

Knowlton & Newman part of the Rubix Group are a wellestablished 24/7 electrical and mechanical engineering services Company. That have a wide customer base and typically repair overhaul and install pumps motors and gearboxes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain install test and commission electromechanical systems and equipment and wiring in accordance with regulations and specifications.
  • Test electromechanical equipment to troubleshoot / fault find.
  • Assemble and wire electrical control and power distribution panels commercial and industrial settings.
  • Carry out site works on client sites.
  • Filling reports and test sheets.
  • Advising remedial repairs where required.
  • Carry out work to the satisfaction of the customer and the management team.
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Follow all Company health & safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment.
  • Carry out any other reasonable request from Management.

Key Skills / Qualifications

Essential:

  • Ideally fully apprenticetrained with a number of years electrical experience preferably gained in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Preferably trained to BS7671 IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition.
  • Excellent allround electrical skills.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of and commitment towards upholding health and safety compliance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate to all employees at all levels within the company.
  • Must have the ability to remain calm when dealing with difficult or conflicting situations.
  • Knowledge of electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to build install and maintain electrical systems.
  • Ability to assemble and wire electrical control and power distribution panels in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Full driving license

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the following equipment will be advantageous
    • 3 phase motors
    • Variable speed drives
    • Star delta starters
    • Soft starters
    • Power and control cabling / wiring
    • Lighting systems
    • Building services
    • MCC Panel
    • Distribution boards
    • Junction boxes
    • Emergency stop circuit
