Shipment Supply Chain Coordinator
Location: Leeds
Salary: 30000 to 32000
Hours: Fulltime Monday to Friday
Benefits: 23 days annual leave (increasing with service) plus bank holidays generous company bonus free onsite parking.
We are recruiting for a Shipment Supply Chain Coordinator on behalf of our wellestablished client in Leeds. In this role you will manage inbound shipments ensuring accurate updates and clear communication with the supply chain and freight forwarders. You will also support the Supply Chain Coordinator with administrative purchasing tasks and ensure imported purchase orders are regularly updated notifying sales of any delays.
Responsibilities:
- Book shipments and ensure required documentation is received before booking.
- Communicate with freight forwarders and suppliers to arrange collections and track shipments.
- Update ETA and notify sales if due dates impact customers.
- Collate paperwork before shipment arrival at port.
- Benchmark suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and maintain strong freight forwarder relationships.
- Conduct regular reviews with freight forwarders and hold them accountable for issues within their control.
- Research and evaluate new freight forwarders.
- Hold suppliers accountable for paperwork accuracy.
- Place purchase orders on the dashboard and chase UK order confirmations.
- Address pricing discrepancies and challenge delivery dates when needed.
- Follow up on purchase order updates and arrange direct delivery shipments.
- Receipt and verify quantities for direct delivery shipments.
- Maintain and manage the purchasing inbox responding to enquiries promptly.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in coordinating shipments and managing supply chain processes (preferred)
- Knowledge of freight forwarding processes and supplier management is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and freight forwarders.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fastpaced environment.
- Well organised and attention to detail
