Resident Welfare Officer

Northeast Region

Fulltime Permanent Role

Salary of up to 28917pa plus a company car!

Mears Housing Management are seeking Resident Welfare Officers to support the delivery of a new service designed to enable a vulnerable client group avoid homelessness and move into settled accommodation. Pastoral floating support will be required to support the management and sustainment of interimaccommodationandto support apathway to settled accommodation.

The Resident Welfare Officer role involves a mix of administrative practical and supportive tasks primarily focused on helping service users with their housing and wellbeing needs.

  • Diary and Property Management: Arrange your own schedule managing a portfolio of property inspections and checking on completed work.
  • Planning and Support: Support service users with health finance repairs and the moveon process.
  • Appointments and Referrals: Assist with service users appointments and make necessary referrals including fallback support as needed.
  • Food and Basic Needs: Arrange food parcels and ensure service users have access to essential resources.
  • Accommodation Support: Help find and arrange accommodation options for service users.
  • Communication: Regularly interact with service users via facetoface meetings and telephone calls alternating throughout the month. This includes making sure service users attend their appointments.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Raise work orders for repairs needed in properties (such as voids and).

This position is very serviceoriented requiring strong organisation and communication skills. Youll need the ability to balance administrative tasks with handson support.

This role is to primarily cover the County Durham/Darlington/Teeside areas with the expectation to travel throughout the North East as required by the business.

Role Criteria

This role forms part of the frontline service team who are delivering to a vulnerable client group.

You will need:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a similar based role
  • Experience of working with vulnerable and diverse client groups
  • Exposure and experience of dealing withdrug misuse homelessness mental health exoffenders trafficking
  • Ability to identify individuals and family need and recognise the required support packages to maintain independence
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients both facetoface and by phone/email.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • You will be supportive trustworthy a good listener approachable and empathetic to others by nature as well as being patient open able to think on your feet with a strong desire to help others
  • Full UK Driving License
