Role description:

To understand and demonstrate capability to influence and develop the Arcadis business and the Business Advisory Communities of Practice Service Capabilities and Value Propositions for our clients major Capital Programmes. Focus on the UK but as part of a new global Community of Practice for Procurement & Supply Chain Advisory services working with clients and their investment programmes across the sectors of the built environment.

Play a key role in growing our market offer to support clients across the lifecycle of procurement and supply chain in major programmes to achieve the right outcomes and benefits for their businesses and stakeholders on time and budget.

The Directors role is to demonstrate the ability to:

1) Develop and land integrated and innovative propositions that respond to client and market need and strengthens our Business Advisory brand in the P&SC capital programmes market commanding margins consistent with the established management consultancy market

2) Spearhead the service line to achieve exceptional client outcomes and commercial revenue and margins through service excellence across a multiple million pound complex capability area

3) Bring thought leadership to the business and clients and be widely recognised as an authority in their field both in as well as outside Arcadis

4) Promote diversity and inclusion and wellbeing through leadership behaviours and embed this culture within Business Advisory

5) Make a positive difference in the world and improve quality of life though our work with clients

6) Manage the UK Procurement & Supply Chain (P&SC) Capital Programme community and teams as part of a growing global consulting practice.

7) Inspire and motivate our people while supporting their wellbeing and welfare making Business Advisory an exciting and rewarding place to be.

Role accountabilities:

  • Develop grow and Manage the Business Advisory service line in Procurement & Supply Chain Capital Programmes including setting objectives and managing performance to ensure that the team has the resources and capability to achieve the business plan.
  • Work with senior colleagues across the Arcadis business to refresh and reinforce our value propositions for supporting clients to achieve value on time and budget across their P&SC capital programme lifecycles.
  • Establish and agree key performance targets and financial budgets for the service line in order to optimise business performance in line with set objectives.
  • Lead key relationships with clients and monitor account performance including taking appropriate action to ensure that client expectations and Arcadis commercial objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Inspire teams to shape and win complex bids that can be delivered profitably and that respond to identified client issues.
  • Manage the delivery of large complex consulting commissions ensuring client satisfaction effective project management and good communication and collaboration between Arcadis colleagues.
  • Support the continuous improvement of existing Arcadis propositions in Procurement & Supply Chain Capital Programmes including as a subject matter expert. Further enhance their attractiveness to clients and delivery efficiency and hence business performance.
  • Bring trustedadvisor relationships with Board and executivelevel client representatives and use these to develop and land integrated and innovative propositions that meet client and market needs.
  • Consistently lead teams in an inspiring and motivating manner which embodies Arcadis Leadership principles including the attraction and development of diverse pools of talent.
  • Act as a key member of the global senior team members for the Capital Programme Procurement and Supply Chain practice including collaboration with teams based outside of the UK and a key role in growing the Arcadis brand in this field.

Dimensions of the job:

Financial Accountability: Compliance to Arcadis internal processes and business performance targets

Sales Target: expected to personally lead 12m of fee generation from identification of sales opportunity plus bid management supporting the Business Advisory group deliver and/or exceed planned revenue and ebitda.

Business Area Accountability: Typically carries out at least 2 organising to win roles such as accountability for commissions specific clients and/or community roles.

Management / Leadership Responsibilities: Directly manages 56 people Level 9 or below. Leads growth in team with an aspiration of headcount of 40 by end 2024 and revenue in excess of 6m pa.

Utilisation: As outlined by specific Organising to Win role

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A senior expert within the procurement & supply chain with extensive experience within the Capital Programmes discipline including extensive senior delivery and/or consulting experience for large and complex capital programmes and portfolios.
  • Significant experience of procurement in a regulated context (PCR UCR etc)
  • Further expertise in a relevant business sector would also be attractive.
  • Experience of managing business relationships up to board level.
  • Directly influence client behaviours and investment outcomes dealing effectively with high risk high value executive client situations.
  • Recognised by major (current or potential) clients as a procurement & supply chain subject matter expert with significant demonstrable experience in a Capital Programmes context. Brings a relevant network of economic buyers within UK clients
  • Conversant in the client challenges addressed by Arcadis value propositions with the ability to bring relevant global expertise to clients.
  • Ability to generate crosssales from across Arcadis through relationships with senior colleagues.
  • Bachelors/Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Recognised external accreditation/qualification aligned to BA Capability/service line expertise (e.g. MCIPS MCA RICS and/or relevant engineering professional institution.)
