Analyst Construction Finance (ACLP)

Salary Range: $55000 $65000 /yr

CMLS Financial one of Canadas largest commercial mortgage lenders is looking for an Analyst to join our growing Construction Finance group. The role includes direct support for CMHCs Apartment Construction Loan Program (ACLP). Under this mandate CMLS provides project specific underwriting structuring loan recommendations and loan advance administration for a federally funded national purposebuilt multiresidential affordable housing program. Specific activities include: loan structuring obtaining investor approval loan advance support and monitoring throughout the construction period.
Reporting to the Director of Construction Finance you will be joining a hardworking and dynamic team of Analysts Funders and Account Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and evaluate construction project specific financing information (i.e. budget anticipated cash flows valuations borrower credit status capital structure security sales market cost comparables overall risk profile etc.) for construction loans from original underwriting through to funding;
  • Communicate with ACLP team members CMLS management and CMHC to outline project strengths and weakness and respond to questions as necessary;
  • Create and review loan documents including mortgage presentation and commitment letters;
  • Communicate with clients regarding all internal and external questions;
  • Assist with and analyze ongoing construction loan draws crossreferencing budgets and ensuring applicable undertakings are satisfied per the loan Commitment Letter;
  • Liaise and coordinate with CMLS Funders and Servicing team as well as thirdparty consultants including Quantity Surveyors and Solicitors to ensure loan conditions are met;
  • Provide regular project reporting including anticipated funding dates project stage of completion and other analysis as required.

This role is for you if:
  • You have completed an undergraduate degree in one of the following concentrations: business administration accounting finance or real estate;
  • You are looking for career growth within a wellestablished commercial mortgage lender;
  • You are very resultsdriven and possess strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail;
  • You take ownership of your work and demonstrate a high degree of accountability and commitment at all times;
  • You are resourceful and curious to interpret complex data and draw conclusions based on analysis.
  • You have a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team within a fast paced deadline driven environment;
  • You have a passion for real estate and/or commercial lending. An understanding of construction development is also considered an asset.
  • You have great written and verbal communication skills
