You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAs a key member of our multidisciplinary team the Genetic Counsellor will provide comprehensive genetic services to a diverse multicultural population. The successful candidate will be responsible for genetic assessments counselling and patient support including diagnostic evaluations documentation and followup care. This role will primarily support patients in areas such as cancer genetics prenatal/preconception genetics and general genetics collaborating with a medical geneticist on pediatric and adult cases.
In this role you will work with patients and their families to help them understand the implications of genetic disorders in the context of their personal familial and cultural backgrounds. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing family history and inheritance patterns calculating recurrence risks and providing information about genetic testing and related procedures. Additionally the Genetic Counsellor will serve on committees as needed and act as a resource for genetic information for healthcare professionals patients and the general public.
