Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Intermediate ITS Design Engineer to join our team. This role will play a vital role in delivery of ITS projects for provincial municipal and private sector clients. Working closely with senior engineers and project managers you will participate in variety of ITS engineering projects form conceptual designs systems engineering feasibility studies technology market research prepare technical drawings and documentation that facilitate the procurement construction and integration of Intelligent Transportation Systems.
The ITS Designer will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change urbanization and digitization trends are requiring todays mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the worlds growing population. We design connected sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
- Conducting research presenting technical content to internal teams and clients developing presentations and reports
- Developing ITS concept designs and detail design using MS Visio Drafting and AutoCAD software to create ITS layouts wiring diagrams detailed drawings network schematics
- Developing project schedules using MS Project and Excel Documentation: Organize and manage files and project documentation effectively.
- Coordination with other team members internal and external stakeholders such as other engineering disciplines contractors and regulatory agencies to integrate ITS designs seamlessly with overall project plans.
- Conducting thorough reviews of drawings and documentation to identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies. Ensure that drawings comply with applicable codes standards and project specifications.
- Communicating effectively with team members clients and stakeholders to clarify design requirements address technical issues and provide updates on project progress. Participating in design meetings and reviews as needed
Software Proficiency:
- CAD software tools and related applications O365 MS Project Visio Communication
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in engineering: Civil or Electrical.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in engineering.
- Familiarity with ITS engineering industry technology concepts and terminology.
- Detailoriented mindset with excellent problemsolving skills and a commitment to producing accurate and highquality work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
