Teacher School Mental Health Counsellor
Probationary: August 25 2025 June 25 2026
Location Beacon Hill Public School FTE 0.50
Start Date August 25 2025 Closing Date June 27 2025
Requirements: Bachelor of Education Degree Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Promote family involvement and increase family participation in educational personal social and/or vocational planning for students.
- Comply with guidelines for Practice including developmental guidance instruction individual student planning responsive services and school/community support systems.
- Experience teaching in an Elementary setting with knowledge of English Language Learners.
- Participate in staff development professional learning communities and other meetings as appropriate
- Knowledge and familiarity with Assessment for Learning Literacy and Differentiated Instruction practices.
- Effective organizational skills and classroom management skills are imperative.
- Ability to integrate and use technology in a regular or virtual classroom.
- A strong ability to build relationships with Elementary school students.
- Strong technology skills are required with knowledge of Google Platform applications and PowerSchool an asset.
- Flexible TEAM player and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Strong communication skills are required to meet the needs of this position.
- Training in The Leader in Me (TLIM) is an asset OR be willing to participate in training provided
- Other dues as assigned by the school principal.

All candidates must hold or be able to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas and demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills
