Relevant du gestionnaire Mthodes & Outillages Spciaux lingnieur mcanique lead outillage participe la conception des outillages dinstallation machinage dmontage manutention et de levage. Participe la conception doutillage spcialis reli aux projets majeurs rcents ou en cours de soumission.

Reporting to the Methods & Special Tools manager the tooling lead mechanical engineer participates in the design of installation machining dismantling handling and lifting tools. Participates in the design of specialized tools related to recent major projects or those currently being submitted.

Responsabilits

  • Analyser les informations techniques (spcifications techniques ltendue des travaux division du travail);
  • Responsable de la conception de loutillage spcial pour lassemblage au site selon la planification et les budgets du projet tout en considrant laspect EHS;
  • Planifier la phase de conception de loutillage assurer un suivi et se coordonner avec lquipe de projet;
  • Participer aux revues de conception de divers projets afin dassurer une conception conforme avec les mthodes dinstallation chantier;
  • Optimisation de la conception doutillage ou de machine pour amliorer les temps dinstallation;
  • Prparer et superviser lexcution des dessins techniques;
  • Rdiger des rapports et des documents dingnierie y compris des procdures dessai des notes de calcul technique des manuels dentretien;
  • Apporter un soutien technique la chane dapprovisionnement et participer au soutien technique des quipes montage en chantier;
  • Validation des cots des procdures et outillage au cours de la phase dappel doffres avec les autres membres de lquipe Construction & Commissioning;
  • Responsable de ses livrables et budgets dans le cadre des projets attitrs.

Qualifications requises

  • Baccalaurat en gnie mcanique avec un minimum de 5 10 annes dexprience pertinente;
  • Membre de lOrdre des Ingnieurs du Qubec ou Ontario;
  • Communication en anglais obligatoire Lemploy(e) sera amen(e) interagir de manire fluide avec des collgues de nos autres installations travers et/ou lextrieur du Canada et qui sont gnralement incapables de communiquer en franais et dont la langue de travail est principalement langlais.
  • Connaissance de Safety Standards for Material Handling and Lifting Equipment (OSHA) B30.20 sous le crochet;
  • Connaissance en soudage et usinage est un atout;
  • Capacit de travailler en quipe et de communiquer efficacement;
  • Doit tre prt se soumettre au contrle pralable lembauche y compris mais sans sy limiter la vrification des rfrences et la vrification des antcdents;
  • Doit avoir lautorisation de travailler sans restriction au Canada;
  • Prt voyager et faire des dplacements temporaires en Amrique du Nord.

Caractristiques dsires

  • tre passionn par la conception en mcanique et par le domaine de lhydrolectricit;
  • La connaissance des mthodes de calcul lies la rsistance des matriaux la simulation par lments finis la mtallurgie et au soudage sont des atouts pour ce travail;
  • Dessin 3D NX;
  • Connaissance SmartSheet et Excel Intermdiaire.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the technical information (technical specifications scope of work division of work);
  • Responsible for the design of the sites special tooling for site assembly in accordance with site planning and budget considering the EHS aspect;
  • Plan the tooling design phase follow up and coordination with the project team;
  • Participate in design reviews of various projects and ensure design consistent with site installation methods;
  • Optimisation of the tooling design or the machine to improve and reduce site installation time;
  • Prepare information and supervise the execution of technical drawings;
  • Write reports and engineering documents including test procedures engineering notes maintenance manuals;
  • Provide technical support to the supply chain and participate in the technical support of the site teams;
  • Validate the costing of procedure & tooling during the tendering phase with other members of the Construction & Commissioning team;
  • Responsable of the deliverables and budgets for their projects.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience;
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingnieurs du Qubec or Ontario;
  • English communication is mandatory The employee will be required to interact fluidly with colleagues in our other facilities across and/or outside of Canada and who are generally unable to communicate in French and whose language at work is predominantly English.
  • Knowledge of Safety Standards for Material Handling and Lifting Equipment (OSHA) B30.20 Below the hook;
  • Knowledge of welding and machining would be an asset;
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively;
  • Must be prepared for preemployment screening including but not limited to reference checks and background checks;
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada without restriction;
  • Ready to travel time to time in North America.

Preferred characteristics

  • To be passionate about mechanical design and the field of hydropower;
  • Knowledge of calculation methods related to material resistance finite element simulation metallurgy and welding are assets for this work;
  • Dessin 3D drawing (NX);
  • SmartSheet et Excel Intermediate knowledge.
