About the Role:
We are seeking a technical and peopledriven Engineering Manager to lead one of our development teams in the Admission & Care Planning domain of the AlayaCare Cloud application. This area is at the core of how our platform supports inhome clinical carethrough tools that enable intake workflows care plan creation documentation of medical histories medication tracking complex form capture and more.
You will be responsible for driving both technical excellence and team development helping AlayaCare scale its product offerings while maintaining a high standard of reliability performance and impact for our customers.
A day in the Life:
People Leadership & Team Development
- Hire coach and retain top engineering talent setting clear expectations and providing frequent actionable feedback.
- Foster a hightrust culture of ownership accountability inclusion and continuous learning.
- Conduct performance assessments and drive career development for team members.
Technical & Operational Excellence
- Own the software delivery lifecycle endtoend from technical design to deployment and operations.
- Lead by example in engineering standards technical decisions operational best practices and quality ownership. Collaborate with product design and other engineering leaders to deliver solutions that are performant secure and scalable.
- Own the responsibility for quality regarding deliverables.
- Drive innovation simplification and technical excellence across your teams providing handson guidance when needed.
Product and Project Ownership
- Define prioritize and execute the teams roadmap in collaboration with Product Managers.
- Deliver impactful features with a strong focus on customer needs and operational excellence.
- Use data and metrics to measure progress inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Strategic Impact & Innovation
- Identify longterm technical opportunities risks and work proactively to address them.
- Drive innovation and experimentation encouraging the team to explore and improve how we deliver care through software.
- Influence crossteam architecture and platform evolution ensuring scalable resilient systems
CrossFunctional Collaboration
- Partner effectively with Customer Success Sales Engineering and other internal stakeholders to solve complex customer challenges.
- Act as the technical liaison for your product area in strategic conversations balancing business needs with technical feasibility.
What you bring to the team:
- 7 years professional software engineering experience.
- 3 years of people management experience in a technical industry including strong crossfunctional leadership and organizational skills.
- Bachelors Degree (. .) in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Have developed distributed web applications using SQL databases.
- Experience in implementing Scrum/Agile practices with engineering teams.
- You enjoyed an experience with startups or scaleups.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to express technical and business concepts in approachable terms.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary software development practices and opinions on how to best implement them.
- English mandatory and French considered an asset.
Location and travel requirements:
AlayaCare supports a flexible hybrid working model expecting that our employees have a regular inoffice presence at their closest office location while offering flexibility for some remote work. Our team encourages inperson collaboration and with this the preferred candidate location for this position would be within the Greater MontrealArea.
