About the role
Mater Springfield has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Speech Pathologist to join the team in a Permanent Part time capacity 19 hours per week.
The Speech Pathologist at Mater Private Hospital Springfield provides care for adult inpatients who present with communication and swallowing difficulties across a variety of clinical specialities. Service areas include general medicine general surgery oncology and rehabilitation. The role requires that facility initiatives are integrated into clinical practice organisational work unit guidelines and facility policies.
Salary range: $39.86 $58.59 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation andaccess to notforprofit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!
What youll be doing
- Independently undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols to achieve patient focussed outcomes
- Provide delegation supervision training and support to less experienced health practitioners allied health assistants students support staff and volunteers in the delivery of clinical services
- Contribute to the development of clinical practices procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams
- Identify develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
- Actively participate in translating research into practice
- Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams and liaise with patients their families/carers and external agencies to facilitate patient centred care
- Participate in continuing professional development activities to further develop clinical practice and expertise
- Contribute to the learning and development of the team through clinical education and clinical supervision
- Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision
About you
To be successful in the role you will have the following:
- Possess a Bachelor or Masters degree in Speech Pathology;
- Hold current membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) or be eligible for membership;
- Current Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status is highly desirable.
- Be eligible to receive a provider number through Medicare;
- Previous experience in acute and rehabilitation hospital adult speech pathology services would be highly regarded.
- The ability to participate in a weekend roster
- The ability to work flexibly and increase as needed would be highly regarded.
