About Edges NDIS Services

As a registered NDIS provider Edge Employment Solutions NDIS plays a vital role in empowering people with disability to reach their full potential by providing customised employment support. Our services aim to help individuals develop the skills and confidence needed to participate in the workforce pursue their goals and live independently.

Position Purpose

The NDIS Employment Support Coach is responsible for delivering Edges NDIS funded employment services such as School Leaver Employment Supports and Finding and Keeping a Job. A key responsibility of this role is to support and mentor NDIS participants to overcome barriers build capacity to move onto a pathway to further education or employment through the development of individualised plans.

The NDIS Employment Support Coach engages participants with a personcentered approach and through collaboration with other stakeholders. They deliver services in a safe and ethical manner that is compliant with the NDIS Commissions Quality Standards Framework to ensure quality services are delivered and enhance the reputation of Edge.

The role is a part time position based in Midland working in the community with an office base at our head office in Subiaco.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes

  • Manage a caseload of up to 10 participants as they navigate their employment journey.
  • Support individual participants to meet their employment goals in line with their funded NDIS Employment Supports by:
  • Establishing a relationship of trust and respect with each participant.
  • Assessing their individual needs skills and aspirations.
  • Helping them set goals and develop a plan of employment supports to achieve them.
  • Increasing their work readiness through targeted capacity building skill building activities and work experience.
  • Monitoring the progress of each participant and adjusting the individuals plan as needed.
  • Offering constructive feedback to foster personal and professional growth.
  • Encouraging positivity selfconfidence and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Motivating and engaging participants in suitable job search activities.
  • Providing onthejob support to participants who undertake work experience activities or employment.
  • Initiating reverse marketing efforts to connect participants with businesses resulting in sustainable employment outcomes.
  • Building relationships with employers to create work experience and employment opportunities for participants
  • Collaborating with Edges DES team to enable the best possible outcomes for the participant.
  • Build positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders including families guardians Support Coordinators educators and allied health professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records
  • Participate in professional development and training as required.
  • Involvement and participation in Edge meetings and functions as required.
  • Contribute to the team and uphold the highest quality of work within the role.
  • Comply with the terms of your employment contract as well as any and legislative requirements and workplace policies and procedures established by Edge such as work health and safety policies Code of Conduct confidentiality agreements and antidiscrimination policies.
  • Complete other tasks as required

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment services.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet NDIS and Edge compliance requirements and maintain professional boundaries regarding participant and family/carer expectations
  • Strong knowledge of personal and professional development techniques
  • An exceptional ability to build and maintain partnerships with a diverse range of key stakeholders
  • Strong communication listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Appreciation of working as part of a team and working independently.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Strong administration skills including maintaining documentation and an eye for detail.
  • Selfmotivated confident and enthusiastic demonstrating a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and possess a can do approach to work.
  • Able to inspire and motivate others.
  • Highly empathetic and understanding.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion.
  • Competent across Office 365 MS Teams and SharePoint.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate III or IV Diploma or Degree in relevant field (eg. Individual Support (Disability) Community Services Employment Services Career Development) or at least two (2) years experience in the disability employment services sector.
  • Demonstrated experience working within the NDIS environment
  • Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability (desirable)

  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check (WWC)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Western Australian C class driving license and a comprehensively insured vehicle.
