Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate ocean freight contracts to secure best rates and services.
- Manage relationships with shipping lines and logistics partners.
- Optimize freight costs while maintaining service standards.
- Coordinate shipment planning and vessel bookings with internal teams.
- Handle freight contract drafting and compliance.
- Monitor shipping trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
- Track KPIs like cost per container and delivery timelines.
- Identify and mitigate risks in freight operations.
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to trade laws.
- Collaborate with finance, supply chain, and customs teams for smooth logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- Graduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in ocean freight procurement.
- Strong negotiation skills and established network with major shipping lines.
- Excellent knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and ocean freight operations.
- Proficient in freight management systems, MS Excel, and documentation tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
