Job Description
Overview
The Mendix Software Engineer plays a pivotal role in our organizations software development team focusing on delivering highquality applications using the Mendix lowcode platform. This position is integral to driving digital transformation by rapidly developing applications that can be adapted to various business needs. The engineer will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather requirements design functional solutions and implement innovative technology solutions. Through effective use of Mendix the engineer will enhance operational efficiencies and user experiences ultimately contributing significantly to the companys strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation coupled with a passion for lowcode development ensuring projects are completed on time and meet stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement applications using the Mendix platform.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
- Design user interfaces and workflows that enhance user experience.
- Conduct thorough testing of applications to ensure quality and performance.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
- Integrate thirdparty APIs and services within Mendix applications.
- Provide technical support for deployed applications and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Document application specifications architecture and user guides.
- Work in Agile teams to deliver sprints on schedule.
- Continuously optimize and improve existing Mendix applications.
- Stay updated with Mendix updates and best practices.
- Contribute to enhancing the methodology and practices used in development.
- Mentor junior developers and provide training on Mendix functionalities.
- Collaborate with other technical teams for system integrations.
- Assist in project planning and estimation with relevant input on technology.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- 2 years of professional experience in software development.
- Previous experience with the Mendix platform is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Java and other programming languages.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with databases (SQL NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML CSS and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts is a plus.
- Experience with testing frameworks and automated testing is a benefit.
- Mendix certification is an advantage.
