Job Description
Reporting into the Associate Vice President of Innovation & Partnerships the Program Manager Executive Engagement will be an integral member of the Advancement Division and the Innovation & Partnerships team. He/she will be responsible for providing highlevel administrative support to the Associate Vice President and other core team members in the management communication and engagement of executive advisors and stakeholders. He/she will work collaboratively with various leadership offices at Virginia Tech including the Presidents Office and Virginia Tech Foundation. This individual will assist in integrating work across a wide range of functions including engagement business development faculty collaborations and others to ensure that we are well aligned in our executivelevel outreach and engagement.
Responsibilities will include managing a comprehensive set of activities in support of the Associate Vice President and university leadership as they interface with Csuite/executive stakeholders including support staff members and leadership teams from various organizations. He/she will source and communicate agendas in coordination with Virginia Techs Presidents Office and will oversee followon activities and resource development. This individual will provide logistical support befitting of executive leadership and engage with key stakeholders to prepare for meaningful discussions create actionable points of followup and report and track progress toward goals. In followup to executive advisors engagement the Program Manager will be responsible for the convening of task forces & tiger teams with a range of stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure that they are all working together to capitalize on the growth opportunities and big ideas.
This individual will deploy best practices in project management to handle all aspects of the executive advisors meeting lifecycle from preparation to hosting of the meetings to derivative actions postmeeting. Exhibiting strong communication tracking and reporting the Program Manager Executive Engagement will be responsible for overseeing the daily tasks required to deliver on key milestones including but not limited to: preparing reports and presentations managing complex scheduling and interfacing with internal and external partners to follow progress on action items.
The Program Manager Executive Engagement must have prior experience supporting executive level universitywide projects and collaborating with individuals at all levels. He/she will uphold the highest professional standards interfacing directly with VIPs Csuite executives and important stakeholders both internally and externally. This fastpaced position requires an individual who is highly organized detailoriented and highly professional with excellent interpersonal skills. To be successful the Program Manager Executive Engagement must possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a demonstrated ability to work with respect cooperation civility and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in a relevant field; or bachelors degree with experience equating to an advanced degree
Demonstrated expertise in board management economic development and/or higher education environments.
Proven success in interfacing with Csuite executives and highlevel stakeholders.
Established track record in consultative or technical sales/marketing business development client management business/research strategy and innovation/partnership functions.
Recognized for professionalism and demonstrated effectiveness in communication across diverse constituencies including clients customers teams donors and volunteers.
Proven capacity to analyze market technical and customer data to establish priorities and execute increasingly complex strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
Documented history of independent initiative and demonstrated contributions within teambased environments in complex and fastpaced organizations.
Proven success in building consensus and developing strong collaborative relationships across all levels of an organization
