Job Description

Position Summary

The role of a Credential Analyst involves acting as a liaison with the Commission on Teacher Credentialing and the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. A top priority is to remain current on policies and procedures involving credentialing and to interpret information found on leaflets and correspondences. The ability to explain this information to students staff and faculty in a concise manner is imperative. Working collaboratively in the best interest of the students to ensure they are eligible to receive a credential in a timely manner is top priority.

Essential Functions

Working with Program Directors and Faculty:

  • Consult and advise Department of Student Services and Leadership faculty to aid in ways that enhance their ability to effectively counsel students with regard to CTC requirements.
  • Complete student evaluations for Program Directors prior to admissions interviews.
  • Evaluate student files to ensure credential eligibility for those exiting their program.
  • Provide Program Directors with student status program assessment and recommendations on an individual basis.
  • Update test information scores as submitted (including PRAXIS CSET TPAs and RICA)
  • Problem solve complex credentialing issues.
Working with Regional Campus Faculty and Staff:
  • Keep faculty and staff at the regional campuses informed with regards to advising credentialing and admissions issues.
  • Work with regional campus staff to establish policies and procedures ensuring that students receive the same high level of services at each location
Working with other campus offices:
  • Develop an indepth understanding of campus offices and how they pertain to the School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
  • Work at building strong positive relationships in order to ensure that the Credentials Office provides excellent customer service.

Environmental Conditions:
  • Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise dust fumes vibrations and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the the time
  • Frequent computer use at a workstation up to eight hours per day.
  • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
  • Public contact position requiring professional apparel personal hygiene and grooming.
Physical Demands:
  • This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 90% of the time be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc. operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able ot communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and inperson communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.

University Information

$39520 to $46800 is the annual starting salary for this role and reflects what Fresno Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications experience and internal equity. In addition to compensation FPU offers a competitive benefits package.
